Michael Iacona is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in New York. He advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on software, product, and technology-driven value creation.

With more than 25 years of experience spanning software engineering, SaaS product leadership, M&A, and executive management, Mr. Iacona is recognized for his ability to translate technology strategy into measurable EBITDA impact. He has led and supported more than 100 pre- and post-acquisition engagements, helping investors and management teams assess and optimize software platforms, product portfolios, and data assets across large, complex global enterprises as well as high-growth small and medium-sized enterprises and startups. His work focuses on improving product profitability and R&D efficiency through portfolio rationalization, operating model redesign, accelerated development velocity, and labor cost optimization, consistently driving margin expansion and value realization.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Iacona held senior executive technology roles across public and private companies. He began his career as a software engineer with Loews Corporation and AT&T, before advancing into technology leadership roles. He worked with Thomson Reuters as Vice President of Technology M&A, where he supported acquisitions and integrations across the company’s global product and platform portfolio. He spent more than a decade at Monster/TMP Worldwide, serving in roles including Vice President of Engineering and Senior Vice President of Strategic Systems. He played a pivotal role in the divestiture of TMP Worldwide from Monster Worldwide, helping establish TMP as a standalone company.

In addition to his corporate leadership experience, Mr. Iacona served as Chief Strategy & Growth Officer of Fusemachines, an AI solutions and talent company specializing in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. He was also President and School Director of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where he led a successful turnaround, strengthened profitability, and oversaw the rollout of a unified mobile and web-based learning platform supporting more than 100,000 students and graduates across 150+ countries.

Mr. Iacona earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Hofstra University, a master’s degree in information systems from Pace University, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
