Michael Horvath is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Financial Services in New York, and co-leads the firm’s Wealth and Asset Management industry advisory practice. He brings over 20 years of consulting and industry experience and is focused on value generating transformation programs for financial services clients.

Mr. Horvath serves wealth managers, private banks, family offices, retirement providers, asset managers and private equity firms and fintech/wealth tech companies. In addition to investment products and services, he brings extensive experience with retail banking, payments, mortgage and other consumer-focused businesses. His core areas of focus include product and platform strategies, business and operating model design, M&A, client and advisor experience, performance improvement, regulatory response and digital. 

Mr. Horvath’s recent client experience includes leading operating profit improvement programs for private banks, brokerage firms and RIAs, including operating model redesign, revenue growth identification, client and advisor experience improvement and front/middle/back office operational efficiency initiatives. For several large wealth managers, he has supported clients in improving their front office productivity through organizational design, go-to-market strategies and talent effectiveness programs. 

Additionally, Mr. Horvath specializes in technology modernization and digital transformation programs, including strategic capability assessments, vendor selection, operational model design, process improvement and next generation technology integration.    

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Horvath was a Principal at PwC Strategy& and Booz&Company.

Mr. Horvath earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
