Michael Fink is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal U.S. Energy Practice in Denver. He serves in both advisory and interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) capacities, specializing in finance and accounting operations in M&A contexts in the energy industry.

With more than 20 years of consulting experience, Mr. Fink’s primary areas of concentration are financial accounting and reporting, cost management, planning and budgeting, management reporting and billing and settlement processes. Most recently, he has focused on helping energy industry clients execute carve-outs and stand-ups related to finance and accounting functions impacted by large transactions.

Mr. Fink’s roles have entailed a wide range of critical accounting processes, including production accounting, plant accounting, gathering and transportation accounting, revenue accounting, land administration and division orders, joint interest billing, royalty and regulatory compliance, and midstream gas scheduling and accounting. He has built and directed large application development for technology organizations and has worked extensively with senior executives to align technology solutions to achieve business goals and objectives.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Fink was a Senior Director with Enron Wholesale & Retail Services, where he led a technology organization focused on developing processes and systems critical to the operation of its retail, power, gas and asset management businesses. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Staff Internal Auditor with Exxon USA.

Mr. Fink earned a bachelor's degree in economics and finance from Baylor University and an MBA (operations and manufacturing management concentration) from Washington University in St. Louis.
