His primary areas of concentration are the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions with a focus on private equity and corporate acquisitions.
Mr. Farkas focuses on advising financial and strategic buyers and sellers on tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions and reorganizations, such as federal, state and local tax liabilities, sales and use tax liabilities, property and payroll liabilities, domestic and international tax structuring, as well as performing several transaction cost analysis studies.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Farkas spent six years with Warburg Pincus, LLC a global multi-strategy private equity firm. There, Mr. Farkas’ focused on Warburg Pincus’ international portfolio with key responsibilities including the creation and implementing preferential ownership structures for new international investments and the management of the entire portfolio of offshore special-purpose entities across eight international jurisdictions.
Previously, Mr. Farkas held roles at Lehman Brothers in their Fixed Income Sales Reporting and Analytics group and at Friedman LLP in their Real Estate Assurance and Advisory practice.
Mr. Farkas earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School. He earned a dual Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in accounting and marketing, from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Mr. Farkas is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of New York and a member of the New York State Bar.
