Michael Chang

With more than 20 years of experience, Mr. Chang realizes value for private equity clients across the investment cycle, from ideation to exit. He specializes in identifying and implementing sustainable performance improvement opportunities for clients. He has served clients across a range of industries, focusing on high-tech, manufacturing and digital media sectors.
Mr. Chang has successfully managed numerous diligences, pre-close planning programs and post-merger integrations for his clients. His notable assignments include leading the integration of the product development functions for a multibillion-dollar merger of two e-commerce companies, significantly exceeding management cost saving expectations with minimal reduction to development capacity. For a PE owned manufacturer, he led the pricing strategy, an SKU rationalization and manufacturing footprint consolidation engagement which improved EBITDA by 40%. Mr. Chang has also held various interim executive roles for his clients. As an interim VP of Supply Chain, he implemented S&OP processes which improved forecast accuracy, inventory turns and reversed negative cash flow. He has also led the profitability assessment and portfolio optimization strategy for the successful restructuring of a high-profile technology company in bankruptcy.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Chang served as Managing Director with KPMG Strategy in their Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice. He also worked at AlixPartners, serving as a leader in the Revenue & Growth and Private Equity practices. Prior to consulting, Mr. Chang worked at Intel where he held roles in pricing, demand forecasting, marketing and oversaw supply chain programs across the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Chang earned bachelor’s degrees in economics, electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.
