Michael Camp is a Managing Director at Alvarez and Marsal and is responsible for strategic acquisitions for Alvarez and Marsal Tax. Mr. Camp joined A&M in 2009 following 25 years as a partner with KPMG. Prior to joining A&M Tax in 2015, Mr. Camp was the Chief Operating Officer for A&M's Global Real Estate Advisory Services team.
With more than 30 years of public accounting experience, Mr. Camp has worked with multiple Fortune 1000 clients to address both business and tax issues. His notable assignments include serving a number of larger retail clients such as J.C. Penney, Auto Zone and Office Depot.
While at KPMG Mr. Camp most recently served as partner in charge of the Western Area state and local tax practice, as well as the national lead for state and local practice operations.
Mr. Camp earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arkansas State University and a master's degree in taxation from the University of Denver. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of CPAs. He has served on numerous boards of charitable organizations and continues to support charities focused on children’s services.
