Mr. Pruente has worked with hospitals to identify cost-reduction opportunities, has led integration operations, and has helped medical centers acquire other hospitals, managing all strategic, regulatory, financial, and operational elements.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Pruente served as the Associate Chief Financial Officer for Michigan Medicine, leading finances for the University of Michigan Medical Group (UMMG), a $2+ billion organization. He negotiated and contemporized over $100 million in funds flow arrangements between the clinical enterprise and the clinical departments, established clinical staffing model funds flow arrangements and created and implemented the institution’s first group performance measure to promote contemporary intradepartmental collaboration, and implemented a redesigned financial structure.
Previously, Mr. Pruente served as interim Chief Reporting Officer and Senior Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis for a $1.3 billion private equity–owned physician services company, serving through two annual budgets, monthly forecasts, monthly operating reporting, and quarterly lender reporting packages.
Mr. Pruente earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting (focus on international business) and a master’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University. He is a registered and licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Illinois.
