Massimo Franzese is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Business Technology in London. He brings extensive experience in information technology in both industry and consulting. He is a strategic-minded, delivery-focused IT professional with a track record of due diligence, carve-outs, post-merger integration, IT cost reduction, and technology-enabled value creation.

Mr. Franzese has worked with clients in various industries, including retail, consumer products, food and beverage, life sciences, chemical, automotive, telecom, and engineering.

Notably, Mr. Franzese led the IT transformation of FIS, a Bain Capital portfolio company, from acquisition to formulation of the long-term strategic plan. Previously, he led the carve-out of Whirlpool EMEA and contribution into a joint venture with Arçelik to create the largest European manufacturer of home appliances. Prior to that, he led the carve-out of Calderys from Imerys on behalf of Platinum Equity, a transaction involving six industrial sites in 16 countries. Mr. Franzese was also the lead IT Advisor for the sale-side diligence of the split of Atos into two new enterprises.

Previously, Mr. Franzese spent 18 months working with ICE, an Advent company. He was responsible for the IT improvement plan and then took the role of Interim CIO for 15 months. He then led a sell-side diligence mandate at ICE, working for the asset under the entire Advent ownership cycle.

Prior to joining A&M, Massimo was IT Director and Integration Director for Indesit integration in EMEA for Whirlpool Corporation. Mr. Franzese also served as IT M&A Advisor for EY and worked for several other listed and privately owned businesses as Program Director, IT M&A Advisor, and Interim Executive.

Mr. Franzese earned a master’s degree in electronic engineering from the University of Pisa and an MBA from the University of Warwick. He is an MSP Practitioner and is ITIL V3.0, PRINCE2, and AGILE qualified. He holds a dual British and Italian citizenship.
