The DORA regulation compliance deadline of January 2025 is a significant opportunity for insurers to catch up on digitalisation trends and evaluate their cyber resilience in a holistic manner.
The digitalization of the insurance industry is bringing about benefits from improved customer services to operational efficiencies within the organization. On the flip side, these technological advancements have also increased the risk and scope of cyber attacks for insurers, who store significant amounts of sensitive data from policy holders.
Embarking on 2024, the insurance industry stands at a pivotal juncture. Following a year of profitability driven by increased investment returns, higher interest rates, and premiums in 2023, the industry is confronted with a fresh set of challenges as economic forces slowdown and megatrends such as complex geopolitical risk, technological advancements, and increased cyber-security risks reshape insurers’ operational strategies and challenge established risk and profit models.
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Massimo Carassinu as a Managing Director in its Swiss Financial Services Industry (FSI) advisory practice.
