Mark Burton is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Insolvency practice in Birmingham. He works with management teams to advise corporates and their stakeholders in both stressed and distressed situations. Mr. Burton’s primary focus and experience is with small and mid-size enterprises that operate within the supply chains of larger corporates.

With over 13 years of restructuring experience, Mr. Burton’s expertise covers corporate performance improvement through to formal insolvency appointments. His work has historically been split between advising financial stakeholders (lenders and shareholders) and corporates on cash flow forecasting, accelerated M&A and UK insolvency procedures.

Mr. Burton’s notable assignments include Project Noble, a debt restructuring and sales process of a £200 million turnover critical automotive parts manufacturer, and Babylon Healthcare, an accelerated sales process and pre-pack transaction of a U.S.-listed technology healthcare business. Mr. Burton has worked mainly with clients in the manufacturing industry but has experience across most sectors.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Burton spent eight years with the restructuring services team of Deloitte in Birmingham, serving most recently as Assistant Director. He was responsible for the development and implementation of the approach to integrating analytics into the EMEA restructuring environment.

Mr. Burton earned a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Manchester. He is a fully qualified Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and is certified by the Joint Insolvency Examination Board (JIEB).
