Marios Koliopoulos

Mr. Koliopoulos brings 28 years of experience in banking and industry. His expertise includes financial and operational restructuring (working for debtors and creditors) performance improvement and value creation, as well as bank restructuring. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including financial services, industrials, engineering, procurement and construction and energy.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Koliopoulos served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, the entity managing the €50 billion allocated for the recapitalization and stability of the Greek banking sector within the Greek bail-out program. He handled the c.€28 billion recapitalizations of the four systemic Greek banks; the accelerated full recapitalization of a systemic bank that failed to raise private capital; and the liability management exercises of the systemic banks.
Previously, Mr. Koliopoulos served as a Financial Adviser with Hellenic Petroleum, where he led the structuring and execution of complex and inaugural debt capital raising transactions. He also led the activities in Greece for Bank of America, serving as branch General Manager and as a Managing Director in corporate and investment banking. Mr. Koliopoulos was also involved in project and asset finance transactions for Kvaerner Corporate Development in London.
Mr. Koliopoulos earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA and a master’s degree in advanced mechanical engineering from Imperial College in London.
