Marcel Wibbe is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Healthcare and Life Sciences practice in Frankfurt. His main areas of concentration include the pharmaceutical industry, consultancy and finance. He specializes in the commercialization of pharmaceutical products along the entire product lifecycle of patent protected (small and complex molecules), generics and consumer health products.

With more than 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Wibbe has worked in various commercial fields, overseeing cross-functional departments, including supply chain, medical, market access, tender management and controlling. He successfully executed several large projects in the field of restructuring, logistics, finance, SOX and other compliance and brings expertise in digital transformation, brand activation, system implementation (ERP, CRM), performance improvement, process optimization and sales force effectiveness.

Most recently at A&M, Mr. Wibbe supported several projects for corporate and private equity clients in the field of life sciences and a contract developer and manufacturer of drug delivery devices, including finished dose formulation and packaging. 

Mr. Wibbe’s notable assignments include the acquisition of an aseptic fill and finish biopharmaceutical company in the Middle East with an operational and technical due diligence; commercial and operational DD on a global consumer health care company; operational DD and synergy enhancement on a niche generic and branded specialty pharmaceuticals company; and operational DD on a food supplement contract manufacturer. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Wibbe spent 10 years with Teva Pharmaceuticals in Ulm and Berlin, where he most recently served as Franchise Head Branded Portfolio, leading the oncology, respiratory and cystic fibrosis business. The product portfolio included orphan drugs, patent protected biopharmaceuticals and biosimilars. Mr. Wibbe has also led several business areas with over $100 million revenue and more than 75 employees. Within his various roles, he has served as Head of Digital responsible for the digital transformation and e-commerce activities of Teva and functioned as the Chief of Staff for the past three General Managers in the cluster of Germany and Austria. 

Mr. Wibbe earned an MBA (honors) from the University of Duisburg-Essen. A German national, he is fluent in German and English.
