Kurt Davis, Jr. is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Financial Restructuring team in Dubai. He assists healthy and stressed companies in assessing strategic capital structure considerations. Mr. Davis’ primary areas of concentration are debt advisory, special situations, and debt restructuring.

With more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Davis has worked on high-profile capital raises and debt restructurings in the U.S., the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. He has worked with clients in various industries, including financial services, airlines, oil and gas, power (traditional and renewable), real estate, telecom, manufacturing, and retail.

Mr. Davis' notable assignments include Cell C, Dana Gas, Five Hotels, Garuda Indonesia, Emirates REIT, Edcon, Marina 101, Seafox, Arabian Centres (renamed Cenomi), Fawaz Al Hokair Fashion Retail, Takween Advanced Industries, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP), Abraaj Group, Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL), and Oger Telekom (Turk Telekom).

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Davis spent more than five- years with Houlihan Lokey, where he was responsible for originating and leading complex financings and debt restructurings. Previously, he worked with Barclays Capital, focused on power, infrastructure, and oil and gas, executing M&A and capital markets transactions, including Targa Resources Partners, Range Resources, Noble Energy, Mammoth Energy, and Newfield Exploration.

Prior to that, Mr. Davis served as Principal with Crescimento Inteligente, a private equity firm focused on Africa. Prior to that, he was with Cerberus Frontier (formerly SGI Frontier). Mr. Davis also worked with the African Development Bank in the Office of U.S. Executive Director to the Board of Directors and served as advisor to Kukula Capital. He also previously worked with SPE Capital (formerly part of Swicorp), a private equity firm focused on the Middle East and North Africa.

Mr. Davis earned bachelors’ degrees (high distinction) in political and social thought and foreign affairs and a J.D. (tax law and commercial law concentrations) from the University of Virginia. He earned an MBA (concentrations in finance, operations, and entrepreneurship) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
