Kent Edgerton is a Managing Director with the Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Services Operations Group in Nashville. He specializes in supply chain management and operational improvement and has worked with clients in manufacturing, distribution, transportation, medical devices, retail, wholesale, telecommunications and chemicals.

With over 25 years of industry and consulting experience, Mr. Edgerton brings significant expertise in leading operational improvement initiatives. He has led efforts to design and implement strategic planning systems that align supply and demand across complex supply chains and result in higher service levels and lower overall fulfillment costs. Mr. Edgerton has implemented key supply chain processes, including SIOP, inventory segmentation, SKU rationalization, demand planning, and E&O and freight management.

Mr. Edgerton has led global supply chain initiatives and managed day-to-day supply chain execution to achieve inventory levels, target turns and working capital ratios. He has led decision support and financial reporting for supply chain functions, delivering financial and strategic results through financial planning and best practices analysis.

Mr. Edgerton’s notable assignments at A&M include managing the supply chain function carve-out of a global $1.5 billion revenue medical device manufacturer from its $75 billion revenue parent company; managing the supply chain, distribution, transportation and planning functions for a key supplier in the Project WARP Speed COVID-19 vaccine deployment initiative; and standardizing the carrier payment process for a $800 million transportation broker and establishing controls to limit market condition sensitivity.

Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. Edgerton served as General Manager for XPO Logistics and Director of Logistics for a multi-national manufacturer of HVAC products. He implemented lean manufacturing/Toyota Production System principles into distribution center operations to create world-class labor management utilization and productivity; developed advanced supply chain models to optimize distribution networks and rationalize footprint/site selection decisions across multiple supply chains globally; and implemented and managed SIOP functionality to improve planning and procurement operations

Mr. Edgerton earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Rhodes College and an MBA from the University of Memphis.
