Keith Kelson is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in Los Angeles. He brings 18 years of financial and operational leadership experience serving as CFO of public and private equity-backed companies.

Most recently Mr. Kelson served for five years as the of CFO of a middle-market global contract research organization serving life sciences clients. Mr. Kelson led the global finance and accounting organization, successfully integrating and restructuring a European acquisition which grew the company by over 50 percent, creating a top 20 global CRO. He led the M&A sell-side due diligence which resulted in a successful exit transaction for the private equity sponsor. Mr. Kelson also served as an executive sponsor to the client on its second largest global research trial.  

Mr. Kelson served for four years as CFO of a publicly traded middle market multi-site healthcare diagnostic imaging company. Mr. Kelson led the finance and accounting, human resources and purchasing organizations and successfully led a bankruptcy reorganization to dramatically reduce the company’s leverage. The financial reorganization was accompanied by a successful operational turnaround that Mr. Kelson helped lead, which led to the company being acquired by a competitor.

Prior to Insight, Mr. Kelson served for eight years as CFO of a national telecom provider and was an audit manager with Deloitte.

For 18 years, Mr. Kelson has served on dynamic, innovative, and fast-paced senior leadership teams. In Mr. Kelson’s various roles, he has focused on: company-wide enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business intelligence (BI) systems implementations; debt and equity financings (public and private); M&A due diligence and integrations (domestic and foreign); annual budgets and forecasts, restructurings and cost reduction initiatives; capital projects and procurement; SEC reporting and compliance, investor / analyst / rating agency presentations; Sarbanes Oxley implementations; treasury / banking initiatives; risk management; HR, benefits; 401K plans; and chapter 11 bankruptcy restructurings.

Mr. Kelson earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Christian University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Carlsbad in Carlsbad, California.
