Karan Advani
With more than 14 years of global experience across consulting and financial services, Mr. Advani has advised on complex global transactions by identifying critical operational issues, and developing clear, executable Day 1 and Day 100 plans to support integrations, carve-outs, and business transformations. His primary areas of focus include merger integrations, carve-outs and separations, standalone cost assessments, operational stand-up, transformations, and value realization. He has worked across multiple industries, including banking and financial services, hospitality, IT services, renewable energy, and senior care.
Mr. Advani’s notable assignments include leading carve-out assessment, separation planning, and Day 1 execution for a global private equity firm’s investment in the Indian onshore wind turbine manufacturing business of a global renewable energy company. In addition, Mr. Advani has led integration management engagements for financial services and technology clients, including Day 1 and Day 100 functional integration for a leading South African retail bank’s acquisition of a corporate bank, as well as the parallel integration and carve-out of a transaction involving a US based IT services company.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Advani spent nearly three years with Deloitte India’s M&A Consulting practice in New Delhi, where he most recently served as an Associate Director leading global post-merger integrations and carve-outs. Earlier in his career, he spent more than three years as a corporate and investment banker at Citi India. He was also a co-founding team member responsible for establishing the business planning and performance function for India’s first continuing care retirement community at Antara Senior Living, part of the Max India Group. He also served as an Associate at KPMG US in its Economic and Valuation Services Advisory practice for a period of two years.
Mr. Advani earned a bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude with distinction) in business from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and an MBA from the Indian School of Business.
