Jonny Marston is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring in Leeds. He brings over 20 years of experience advising businesses experiencing underperformance and liquidity issues.

Mr. Marston provides hands-on support to businesses during times of financial distress and advises on the management of cash and working capital, stakeholder management, identification and sourcing of alternative funding and development of contingency plans.

Mr. Marston’s recent experience includes contingency planning for the U.K. operations of a global industrials business, including the preparation of estimated outcome statements for the purpose of facilitating stakeholder negotiations; acting as administrator to three retail energy businesses, Peoples Energy, Green Supplier and Igloo; and the accelerated solvent sale of AIM listed Applied Graphene Materials Plc’s main trading business to a strategic North American trade buyer, preserving all operational employee roles.

Additionally, Mr. Marston has acted as joint administrator to Valaris Plc, a large offshore fleet operator in the oil and gas sector, to effect a transaction for the group to emerge from its Chapter 11 process. He was also involved in the restructuring of Four Seasons Health Care group, specifically the rationalisation of its leasehold property portfolio.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Marston was a Partner with KPMG, where he most recently led its restructuring team across the North of England.

Mr. Marston earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Newcastle University in Tyne, England. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a licensed insolvency practitioner.
