Mr. Balcombe leverages his extensive experience to provide wide-ranging advice and support to PE portfolio companies and their stakeholders at every point of the holding period and beyond, focusing on creating, protecting and realising value. He has worked with clients across various industries, including technology, communications, medical and business outsourcing.

Mr. Balcombe’s notable engagements include providing tax structuring, diligence and advisory support to a long-term investment platform creating a European homeware business via buy and build, including substantial reorganisation and refinancing projects; providing comprehensive tax support (compliance, advisory, transactions controversy) to an international marketing technology group from initial PE-sponsored MBO through secondary PE-ownership (following 10x growth in enterprise value); and overseeing tax support to the European portfolio of one of the world's largest private equity sponsors.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Balcombe spent two years as a Partner with Evelyn Partners in London, where he was responsible for sell-side transaction tax support (including vendor due diligence) and PE portfolio services. Previously, Mr. Balcombe spent more than eighteen years with EY in London, including ten years working on mid-market and big cap PE deals within their transaction tax team in London.

Mr. Balcombe earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Warwick. He is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser.
