Joseph Perovich is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Dallas.

Mr. Perovich supports A&M’s efforts in the technology, aerospace and defense (A&D), aviation, and space industries. With more than 30 years of experience innovating in public and private sectors, Mr. Perovich has led strategic transformational change initiatives that have provided clients with enterprise solutions to their most complex problems. He has served as a trusted advisor to government appointees, senior officials, military leaders, and chief executives of the largest companies in the world. His career spans strategic engagements in the A&D, life sciences, oil and gas, energy, consumer goods, and retail industries, as well as with government clients in the US and Canada.

Mr. Perovich was recognized by the Government of Canada and by US and Canadian A&D industry leadership for designing and leading the restructure and turnaround of one of the largest and most strategic capital acquisition programs in Canada’s history. This program is now the standard for acquisition program management and system development.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Perovich served as President of Hitachi Consulting Government Solutions (HCGS), where he was a member of the Board of Directors and supported and led the expansion of the A&D and energy industry sectors. He also launched new growth platforms, including the Government business sector at Celerant Consulting. Before that, Mr. Perovich was a Senior Program Manager and Systems Engineer Lead for Texas Instruments (TI) Defense Systems Group and Raytheon, where he led and supported US Department of Defense precision-guided weapon system programs and operations serving the US Air Force and US Navy.

Mr. Perovich was recognized as an innovator at TI, where he led the implementation of the first organized lean manufacturing initiative. He was simultaneously a member of the peer-selected technical staff and management team, a position rarely achieved, and was presented with the Corporate TI Quality Award.

Mr. Perovich earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the US Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree in engineering management from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and a master’s degree in strategic studies (MSS) from the US Army War College in Carlisle, PA. He is licensed as a professional engineer in Texas. Mr. Perovich served in the US Army Active and Reserve components, seeing duty in command and staff positions worldwide before retiring at the rank of Colonel.
