JJ Lim
Mr. Lim is a seasoned corporate restructuring and finance executive with over 30 years of experience. He has led major restructuring, turnaround, and M&A initiatives for Korea’s largest industrial companies. With extensive leadership roles, he brings deep expertise in distressed asset management, credit finance, and large-scale corporate workouts.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lim was at Korea Development Bank (KDB) for more than three decades. His experience spanned corporate restructuring, corporate finance, and strategic business management. He played a central role in leading complex restructuring initiatives and managing large-scale credit exposures across Korea’s major industries.
He served as Head of the Corporate Restructuring Center, overseeing KDB’s restructuring strategy and guiding turnaround programs for distressed companies. Prior to this role, he was Director of the Corporate Restructuring Department, where he led major restructuring projects and coordinated multi-stakeholder negotiations.
During his tenure at KDB, Mr. Lim led major corporate restructuring transactions, including restructuring, business management, and M&A activities involving Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and HMM. He also handled workout and rehabilitation procedures for numerous distressed companies, such as Taeyoung Construction, and managed nonperforming loan transactions and auction sales of insolvent assets.
In the area of corporate finance, he oversaw credit financing for major corporates, including DSME, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Fila Korea, and a broad portfolio of small and medium-sized enterprises, including Taekwang Industrial.
Mr. Lim earned a bachelor’s degree in arts in English from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, and is currently pursuing a PhD in corporate restructuring at the Graduate School of Business, Sogang University, Seoul.
