Jeffrey Clayman is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Washington, D.C. He brings more than 25 years of experience advising business clients, primarily in private equity, professional services and real estate.

Mr. Clayman specializes in complex tax technical issues relating to allocations and distributions in flow-through entities such as partnerships, limited liability companies and S corporations.

Additionally, Mr. Clayman is a member of the tax editorial board of a national provider of CPE and is a regular instructor in the partnership arena, specifically helping accountants understand complicated boilerplate language in partnership agreements and other transaction documents. He is also a subject-matter expert for a national educational company that provides tax training to recently admitted attorneys, as well review courses for the bar exam.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Clayman spent 15 years with a Big Four accounting firm, as well as two national accounting firms.

Mr. Clayman earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Maryland, a J.D. (with honors) from the George Washington University National Law Center and an LLM (with distinction) from the Georgetown University Law Center. Over the past 25 years, he has written various articles in real estate journals and managed funds publications.
