Jan-Hendrik Mueller

Mr. Mueller possesses a strong leadership, people and performance improvement track record from transformation to building business. He takes a strategic perspective across many markets/regions, with a hands-on approach.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Mueller headed the post-bind business and operations for the Commercial insurance activities of Zurich insurance in Germany, leading 150+ staff, handling more than U.S. 1+ billion in revenues and transforming it into a high-performance unit over five years. Overall, he spent 10 years at Zurich insurance in various global/senior roles, including Head of Transformation & Strategy and Global Inforce Manager for life insurance books. Previously he worked with UBS bank, heading their insurance business for the German speaking areas and supporting a regulatory transition and cross-border merger between insurance companies.
Prior to this, Mr. Mueller spent two years with Baloise insurance, setting up an international life insurance carrier in Liechtenstein for unit-linked/variable annuity business and heading the product development team. He started his career with Oliver Wyman, spending five years advising insurance/financial services companies in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
Mr. Mueller earned a diploma/master’s degree in business administration and economics (with distinction) from the WHU – Otto-Beisheim Graduate School of Management, Germany. He also completed senior leadership trainings at IMD in Lausanne and INSEAD in Fontainebleau and did his bank apprenticeship at Dresdner Bank in Germany. Mr. Mueller is a native German speaker, fluent in English and has advanced knowledge of Japanese.
