James Arrowsmith is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax U.K. in London. He specializes in private client taxation. His primary areas of concentration are the taxation of U.S. persons or U.S.-connected persons in the U.K. and third countries, U.K. non-domiciles and internationally mobile clients.

With more than 13 years of U.S. and U.K. tax experience, Mr. Arrowsmith has managed the dual taxation of HNW clients in the U.K. and Europe, inbound and outbound taxation of U.S./U.K. residents and U.K. non-domiciles. He has worked with private clients across a range of industries, including owner manager business, asset management and law.  

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Arrowsmith spent 13 years with the Professional Partners team of Frank Hirth in London, where he most recently served as Senior Manager. He helped lead a practice focused on providing advisory and compliance services for HNW partners with U.S. connections, ensuring their tax affairs were optimized with regards to U.K. tax, U.S. tax (at federal and state levels) and third countries.  

Mr. Arrowsmith earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Bristol. He is an Enrolled Agent admitted to practice before the IRS, a Certified Acceptance Agent and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
