Hunt Holsomback is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement service and leads the practice’s Corporate Real Estate and Performance Improvement services. Mr. Holsomback has a 25-year history of providing value enhancing advisory services to real estate investors, lenders, developers, operators and occupants.

Mr. Holsomback is an experienced leader and has advised the executive committees of large global real estate organizations including investment banks, private equity firms, real estate investment trusts (REITS), lenders, developers, hotel companies and homebuilders. His results-oriented approach includes the design, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of solutions to solve corporate governance, risk management, strategic planning, asset management, process enhancement and cost reduction, and technology and outsourcing issues.

Mr. Holsomback has led teams in assisting large owners and lessors of real estate with portfolio strategy and rationalization, site selection, occupancy cost reduction and control analysis, and systems identification and implementation. In his most recent assignments, Mr. Holsomback and his team delivered portfolio enhancing strategies to a global outsourcing provider with more than 50,000 employees, 100 locations and a $100 million real estate operating budget to improve routine processes and reduce the cost of doing business. In the wake of Lehman Brother’s collapse, Mr. Holsomback and his team designed and implemented an asset management tool to create transparency and influence decision-making for the estate’s multibillion dollar real estate portfolio.

As a Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Holsomback combines his business acumen with a strong focus on financial performance. He is a well-regarded subject matter specialist on real estate-centric accounting rules, including purchase price allocation, analysis of variable interest entities and real estate investment trust (REIT) compliance.

Prior to joining A&M Real Estate Advisory Services in 2004, Mr. Holsomback held senior accounting and business advisory positions over a 17-year period with Ernst & Young and Deloitte, where he delivered regulatory compliance and business performance improvement solutions to a global client base.

Mr. Holsomback earned a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from Baylor University. He is a registered Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the states of Texas and Colorado and is an active member of the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF). Mr. Holsomback is a dedicated contributor to local, national and international humanitarian organizations and has served on various boards of directors and in field-based community enrichment initiatives.
