Mr. Rowan-Legg’s experience includes advising management, boards, lenders and shareholders on a wide variety of transactions to facilitate acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and financings. He has served clients in Canada, the U.S. and Europe across industries including manufacturing, retail, forest products, transportation, mining and construction.
Mr. Rowan-Legg’s notable corporate lending mandates include refinancing one of Canada’s largest steel companies upon its emergence from the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) and acting as lead agent on the senior and junior debt facilities that assisted the leveraged buyout of a Canadian automotive company. Additionally, he arranged asset based credit facilities for a Canadian film production equipment rental company, provided a senior revolving facility and equipment lease financing to one of Canada’s largest trucking and logistics companies, and provided bridge financing to a western Canadian lumber manufacturer and timber harvester.
His recent advisory mandates include acting as financial advisor to Right Time Heating and Air Conditioning in the purchase of certain HVAC service businesses from Direct Energy and in the corporate carve-out sale process of Terra Grain Fuels, North America’s largest producer of wheat based ethanol, and a subsidiary of Just Energy. He also conducted the sale of Viceroy Homes Limited, acted as financial advisor to the lenders of a network of quick service restaurants, and acted as financial advisor to the lenders of a diversified trucking and logistics company.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Rowan-Legg was a Vice President at GE Capital’s corporate lending group in Toronto, where he specialized in originating and structuring debt transactions for large Canadian companies.
Mr. Rowan-Legg earned a bachelor’s degree from McGill University and is a CFA charter holder. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Canadian Venture Capital Association and the Turnaround Management Association, and is registered as an Exempt Market Dealer by the Canadian Securities Administration.
