Gary Seaborn is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Merger and Acquisition Services in New York.

With more than 25 years of international consulting and operational experience, Mr. Seaborn brings expertise across a variety of industries, with particular depth in financial services and compensation. He provides advisory services to private equity clients, both pre-acquisition and post-acquisition, supporting broad aspects of the HR workstream. His areas of focus include compensation, employee benefits, HR systems and employee communications. Specific to carve-out acquisitions, he supports the integration and the negotiation of requisite TSA services.

Mr. Seaborn’s HR project work includes leading the sell-side HR workstreams of two different $1+ billion sports industry carve-outs, with the latest of these transactions involving also leading the buy-side standalone set up work; designing a job family and associated compensation framework for two newly combined government contractor firms to align the pay of their Vice President/Senior Vice President employees; leading the HR integration planning for the acquisition of a $3.2 billion salt company; and leading an HR/technology project to identify operation synergies across divisionally aligned HR reporting teams, resulting in the development of a centralized reporting hub and ~$10 million in savings.

Additionally, Mr. Seaborn has been involved in leading pre-acquisition HR due diligence to identify price and purchase agreement adjustments across multiple industries; providing interim CHRO support to a 1500 FTE investment bank in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he evaluated critical skills shortages, exited poor performers and hired new talent into key roles; and designing and implementing multi-year compensation frameworks, long-term incentive plans and the production of associated compensation committee materials. He brings a deep understanding of pay-equity through creation of granular job family structures and regression models.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Seaborn held the position of Head of Reward at Bridgewater Associates and worked for retail and investment banks in London, New York and Johannesburg, performing a variety of finance and human capital related roles.

Mr. Seaborn earned a bachelor's degree in physics from Imperial College (London) and an MBA from Cass Business School (London). He holds a Chartered Management Accountant qualification.
