Filipe Alves

In his professional experience, Mr. Alves has acted as a specialized consultant for the board of directors and project managers in dozens of capital and infrastructure projects. He was responsible for the analysis of more than 500 claims, totaling more than $10 billion in claims analyzed, in which he worked from technical analysis, financial analysis negotiation and contracts amendment.
In his construction experience, Mr. Alves coordinated risk management, process structuring, contract management and litigation in some of Brazil's largest projects in sectors such as energy (transmission and generation), mining, oil and gas, manufacturing and infrastructure (airports, ports, highways and railways), with total investments over R$200 billion.
He has managed dozens of disputes in arbitration chambers as a technical assistant, where he was responsible for the coordination of investigative analyses, definition of technical strategy, and relationships with experts and expert witnesses. In addition, he has acted as an independent third party in complex case disputes and mediations.
Mr. Alves has worked on the strategy of contracting and negotiating more than R$20 billion in contracts, as well as planning and managing risks throughout the life cycle using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques (Monte Carlo) to support strategic project decisions.
Mr. Alves earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the Mauá Engineering School, a postgraduate degree in management with an emphasis on finance from the FGV, and has professional certifications from PMI - Project Management Professional - PMP, Cost Consultant Professional CCP and Earned Value Professional - EVP, AACE. He is currently the President of the AACE Brazil Section - Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering - Renowned Institution for Project and Asset Management.
