Ernesto Elizondo Contreras is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in New York City. He specializes in tax consulting and structuring services for U.S.- and foreign-based alternative investment funds. 

Mr. Elizondo’s primary areas of concentration are the international tax aspects of cross-border acquisitions, with a focus on private equity. He has advised clients in the U.S., Latin American, European and APAC markets. Mr. Elizondo also handles general corporate tax matters. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Elizondo spent 10 years in the International Tax Practice in the New York City office of a Big Four firm, serving most recently as a Senior Manager. He delivered international tax consulting and structuring advice, including the design of a Latin America infrastructure investment platform and implementation of a Latin America real estate investment platform for a U.S.-based fund. Mr. Elizondo also participated in 200+ transactions assisting U.S.-based private equity funds to acquire portfolio companies in Latin America, Europe and APAC. 

Mr. Elizondo earned a law degree with a tax concentration in Mexico from Fundacion Universidad de las Americas, Puebla and an LLM in international taxation from the New York University School of Law. He is a licensed attorney in Mexico.
