Eliza Medearis
Ms. Medearis advises clients, including private equity-backed healthcare services companies, on merger and integration planning. She works with a large county health agency to identify, formalize, and implement new clinical and academic affiliations in its local market. Her integration clients include two large New England health systems working with a university to create a new academic medical center (AMC).
At A&M, Ms. Medearis designed and implemented a faculty compensation program at an AMC in the Midwest. She also performed qualitative and quantitative evaluations of adult and pediatric medical groups across the West Coast. Ms. Medearis served as the interim Chief Financial Officer for a new entity focused on population health activities. She performed ongoing finance and accounting activities, worked to implement a new financial system, and built infrastructure to support the future of the entity. Prior to that, Ms. Medearis worked with a large AMC to redesign and implement a new funds flow. She helped design new faculty compensation plans for more than 1,000 physicians across departments and supported the implementation of a new governance structure for sustainability. She also partnered with senior academic and system leadership to ensure appropriate support and funding for graduate medical education.
On behalf of King County, Washington, Ms. Medearis conducted a comprehensive assessment of the University of Washington as the operator of Harborview Medical Center. She facilitated multiple stakeholder sessions to develop recommended contract changes and updates, advising the County Executive and council offices throughout the negotiation process.
Ms. Medearis earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in health administration from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
