With more than 25 years of consulting and healthcare industry experience, Ms. Stein is an industry leader in delivery system innovation and has led strategic market expansion planning and execution. She offers extensive experience in all aspects of healthcare engagement, including consumer engagement, performance improvement, technology enablement, provider operations, and government programs including Medicaid and Medicare.
Ms. Stein’s executive management experience includes leading the implementation of a new Medicaid program for a large national integrated health plan, building an integrated physical and behavioral health plan from the ground up, building several accountable care organizations, one which generated total savings of $28 million in its first year and had third largest payment in the U.S., redesigning a State Medicaid program, developing strategies and implementing new processes and systems for a large national behavioral health organization, leading a large BCBS Plan in the strategy and implementation of new claims and surrounding systems, and developing a primary care strategy for a large mid-west health plan.
Ms. Stein’s clients have included multi-market BCBS plans, integrated health systems, specialty organizations (behavioral health, dental, and radiology benefit management), community hospitals, accountable care organizations, State Medicaid agencies, clinical and social service organizations, and federal employee organizations.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Stein was a founding partner and healthcare lead for a global consulting firm where she helped build a $25 Million healthcare practice. Prior to that, Ms. Stein was a Director at Navigant Consulting, Inc., a Director at WellPoint/Lumenos, and a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young.
Ms. Stein earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and operations research from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is a board member of the national advocacy organization Families Fighting Flu.
