Diane Rafferty is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Healthcare Industry Group in Los Angeles. With over 33 years of experience in the healthcare industry, Ms. Rafferty brings C-suite expertise in healthcare operations, finance, quality and compliance, productivity improvement and reorganization. She is experienced in managing all aspects of healthcare organizations.

Ms. Rafferty is currently serving as the Chief Clinical Integration Officer for the University of San Diego Health System to develop academic affiliations to create clinically integrated networks and to manage population health.

Ms. Rafferty served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of University Physicians Hospital in Arizona to assist in reacquiring its deemed status from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). She developed and implemented the county's initiative for behavioral health services to include the opening of a crisis recovery center and a 42-bed Adult/Adolescent Psychiatric Pavilion. She also served as part of the audit and clinical compliance team for the Parkland Health System which was under a System Improvement Agreement by CMS.

Ms. Rafferty also served as the Interim CEO for the Oklahoma State Medical Center in Tulsa to complete an operational turnaround and secure a strategic partner for the hospital and organization. She worked with the State of Oklahoma to open a collaborative out-patient behavioral health center adjacent to the campus to improve inpatient bed capacity and behavioral healthcare for the community.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Rafferty served as the Executive Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer for Brotman Medical Center while the hospital was in Chapter 11. While responsible for day-to-day operations, through her leadership, direction and strategic initiative, she improved overall operational performance, was appointed the patient care advocate and restructured clinical operations to produce a  positive margin over a 12 month period and resolve the bankruptcy.

Previously, Ms. Rafferty served as a Surveyor/Clinical Investigator with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (TJC); CEO of San Ramon Regional Medical Center with Tenet Healthcare; an independent consultant providing expertise on compliance, medical malpractice and healthcare litigation; Chief Operating Officer (COO) of USC University Hospital; COO of West Hills Medical Center with HCA; and Chief Nursing Officer of UniHealth, Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

Ms. Rafferty earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the State University of New York and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of La Verne.
