Most recently, Mr. Sarda led the development of a 12- to 18-month transformation plan for the division of a global supply chain and logistics business. By bringing both a cost take-out and activist investor / private equity perspective to the business, he successfully worked with the management team to implement short-term actions as part of a focused profit recovery plan.
Prior to this, Mr. Sarda led a Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) wide performance improvement diagnostic for a global real estate advisory and services business. The diagnostic covered central functions and 27 countries, with deep dive reviews into the six largest countries (UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands). The results identified the root causes of under-performance by line of business and quantified the EBITDA improvement opportunity, doubling EBITDA in two years.
Mr. Sarda has led and supported more than 70 M&A transactions including over a dozen complex, multi-jurisdiction post-merger integration programs up to equity values of £7 billion. In addition to program leadership, he has experience in designing new operating models, identifying and tracking synergies including headcount reduction, communications and change management, and post-acquisition performance improvement.
Representative experience includes: the global integration of three media production businesses, integration of a global testing services and inspection business into a FTSE 100 plc, the carve-out of a 5,000+ FTE division from a global consumer goods player, the integration of multiple pharmaceutical-sector mergers, the integration of an upstream independent into a national oil company, and the integration of a European software acquisition into a global B2B / B2C business.
Mr. Sarda has also worked on pan-European cost reduction programs such as the reorganization of a supermajor’s downstream business in Europe that delivered £320 million in savings. In addition to undertaking internal and external benchmarking, he assisted with aspects of designing the new organization and developing transformation plans.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sarda was a Managing Director at Accenture where he led the M&A practice in the UK and Ireland. He also held leadership roles in the global M&A practice and Accenture Strategy in the UK. Prior to this, Mr. Sarda worked in M&A advisory at ABN Amro and strategy consulting at PwC.
Mr. Sarda earned an MBA from Cambridge University and a bachelor’s degree in management from King’s College London. Earlier in his career, he qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant. He is a British national.
