Deep Parekh is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He specializes in accounting and financial analysis for both buy-side and sell-side transactions.

Mr. Parekh has led financial due diligence projects across a broad range of industries and involving complex situations, including corporate carve-outs, public-to-private transactions and acquisitions of distressed and under-performing companies. He also helped establish A&M’s Global Transaction Analytics practice, which embeds data analytics during the due diligence process, as well as for operational improvement and investment monitoring activities. 

Mr. Parekh determines acquisition targets' quality of earnings and working capital requirements to assist with the determination of purchase price. He also identifies key performance indicators and trends to determine the sustainability of earnings and the growth potential of acquisition targets. Mr. Parekh ensures that acquisition and financing agreements reflect the proper deal structure and coincide with financial due diligence findings. He has also evaluated both investor and management forecast models, performed synergy/cost savings determination analyses and completed carve-out/standalone assessments.

In addition, Mr. Parekh served in a project management role for the finance department of Lehman Brothers Holdings, where he led or participated in various projects, including the sale and transition of Lehman’s Investment Management Division, the sale and transition of two trust banks, reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and the development of an internal budget.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Parekh was a Manager with the Transaction Services practice of KPMG, where he analyzed transaction opportunities and advised both strategic and private equity clients. Previously, he was with the audit and advisory practice of Ernst & Young in New York. Earlier, he was with the transaction advisory services practice of Arthur Andersen.

Mr. Parekh earned a bachelor's degree (honors) in accounting from Binghamton University, School of Management. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
