David Riviere is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Atlanta and leads the Southeast Corporate Performance Improvement practice. With more than 25 years of experience, he is an expert in operational improvement / cost reduction, supply chain optimization, transformation and driving change in global organizations. His primary focus is in the manufacturing, consumer products and retail industries.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Riviere was a senior principal and ran one of three national practices for Kurt Salmon Associates, a retail-focused professional services firm. Prior to this, he led the business transformation practice for Perot Systems working for Jim Champy and Ross Perot, Jr., bringing high value services to the traditional outsourcing model.

Previously, Mr. Riviere was a partner with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, where he held various leadership roles, including leading the supply chain practice for the Southeast and playing a leadership role in the global cross-discipline consumer products industry team.

Mr. Riviere has worked with numerous Global 1000 companies across a variety of industries to drive lasting balance sheet and income statement impact. His functional implementation experience includes: operational strategy, supply chain planning / optimization, activity-based cost management, sourcing, logistics, technology implementation and strategy.

He completed assignments in Europe, North America and Asia / Pacific, giving him a broad perspective in driving results in complex global situations.

Mr. Riviere's recent client experiences include: leading a multi-year turnaround of a multibillion-dollar industrial and consumer products company, driving significant income statement impact and supporting the restructuring of bond debt for equity. Results driven from multiple initiatives include: restructured and renegotiated logistics outsourcing agreement with the incumbent 3PL; renegotiated all freight spend; aggregated and sourced all indirect spend; built / implemented customer / product profitability models, pricing strategy / discipline across 20+ entities; built FP&A organization and budgeting / reporting capability.

He recently provided account leadership across a portfolio-wide performance improvement and strategic sourcing program for an international large-cap private equity firm.

Mr. Riviere earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and serves on the advisory board for the school.
