David Edmonds is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Financial Services Industry (FSI) in London. He is Co-Head of FSI and heads A&M’s Global Portfolio Lead Advisory Services practice, focused on financial institution balance sheet optimization, deleveraging strategy, and execution through portfolio sales, structuring, and management.
Mr. Edmonds has over 35 years of financial services experience, specializing in the acquisition, sale, and management of debt portfolios and broader financial services M&A.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Edmonds led the Portfolio Lead Advisor Services business at two Big Four firms and was Vice Chairman of one of those firms. Prior to that, he headed the European principal debt investment group of a private equity-owned bank, acquiring and managing debt portfolios across the region.
Mr. Edmonds has been a lead advisor to both domestic and multinational financial institutions in the sale and acquisition of debt portfolios in virtually all regions of the world and has participated in hundreds of portfolio transactions across the full range of debt classes, from corporate/commercial loans to all forms of consumer secured and unsecured debt. He assisted a number of European banks to develop and execute balance sheet optimization, deleveraging, and asset wind down plans as part of capital optimization programs or under EU/EBA commitments.
Mr. Edmonds earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Newcastle Australia.
