Daniel Tonks is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Zurich. With over 18 years of experience, he supports companies with pension and HR-related challenges, both on a business-as-usual basis and during times of change, such as M&A activity.
Mr. Tonks has performed pension and HR due diligence for over 500 deals and acted as the signing actuary for over 200 actuarial valuations under IFRS or U.S. GAAP. Mr. Tonks has worked with clients across all industries and multiple locations.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Tonks built and led Deloitte Switzerland’s Pensions Advisory business, which included HR due diligence services. Previously, he also led Mercer Switzerland’s Retirement Services business.
Mr. Tonks earned a bachelor’s degree in theoretical physics from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the U.K.
