Daiju Mita is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Infrastructure and Capital Projects in Tokyo.  He serves as A&M Infrastructure’s Head of Japan. Mr. Mita specializes in infrastructure investment, capital project transformation, asset optimization, and strategic business development for heavy industry. He focuses on the mining and metals industry and energy and power sector for investment due diligences, turnarounds, restructuring, operational improvements, and cross-border executions.

With more than 40 years of international business and investment experience, Mr. Mita has led large-scale industrial operations, driven strategic growth initiatives, managed complex cross-border transactions, and held senior leadership roles across global organizations in the metals and resources sector.

Mr. Mita’s engagements span roles across the mineral resources and metals businesses of Japanese general trading houses (sogo shoshas), including transformation and performance improvement for operations in North America, Asia, and Europe. He has provided infrastructure and capital project advisory services across Japan and helped clients execute large-scale investment and operational transformation programs.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Mita spent close to four decades with Mitsubishi Corporation and affiliated companies across Japan, the US, Canada, and Singapore, where he most recently served as Managing Executive Officer. He also worked as the Chief Regional Officer of North America at Metal One Corporation and Management Director at Partners in Performance, a part of Accenture. During his tenure at Mitsubishi, Mr. Mita was Chairman of the Board of Mitsubishi Development, Senior Vice President and Head of Metals Group of Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas), and Founding President and Chief Operating Officer of Mitsubishi Corporation RtM International. He led large mining asset investments through M&A, international joint venture structuring and execution, asset management, corporate and business transformation, profitability improvements, and strategic expansion across multiple regions. He also spent eight years as Strategic Planning Officer for business development in financial, information and communication technology, logistics, healthcare, environmental, and consumer services.

Mr. Mita earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Keio University and an MBA (Dean’s Award) from Case Western Reserve University.  He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
