Cuneyt Vardar

With more than 30 years of experience in project development, management and advisory, Mr. Vardar has performed major projects as owner’s representative, managing director, senior project director, senior advisor and EPC contractor across North America, the Middle East and Eurasia.
Mr. Vardar has worked with clients globally across a range of industries, including mining and metallurgy, oil and gas, renewable energy, decarbonization, power generation, infrastructure and utilities, steel, glass, cement, gypsum production, biotechnology and food and beverage, with budgets ranging from $10 million to $1.8 billion.
Mr. Vardar’s notable assignments include developing and managing renewable natural gas projects with Tyson Foods in the Midwestern U.S. as the owner’s representative; managing various FEED studies in carbon capture, CO2 upgrading/liquefaction, bioethanol, bioconversion, biogas production, biomethane upgrading and waste-to-value projects in North America as Senior Project Director; and designing and building various heavy industrial projects (glass, cement, gypsum, iron and steel) in Russia, Ukraine and Turkey.
Additionally, Mr. Vardar has been involved in the re-construction of gas cleaning systems at Arcelor Mittal Steel Mill in Kazakhstan; building 2×170 MW combined heat and power plants in Moscow, Russia; building six breweries for Heineken and Efes Pilsener in Russia as an EPC contractor; and managing LNG receiving terminal (Marmara Ereglisi), Russia-Turkey natural gas Transmission and Iraqi-Turkey Crude Oil pipeline projects as project manager.
Mr. Vardar earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Istanbul Technical University. He is a member of the Canada Eurasia Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Mechanical Engineers, and has been a guest speaker in various engagements at the Adam Smith Institute, Russian Oil & Gas Conference in London, Natural Gas Symposium in Istanbul-Turkey, Construction Industry in the former Soviet Union, Canadian Business Association in Russia-Moscow, Energy Congress and Symposium in Istanbul-Turkey, Doing Business in Russia and a series of seminars by Canadian Eurasian Business Association in Moscow.
