Chris Merkt is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in Los Angeles. He brings 15 years of experience in accounting and finance in consulting and corporate capacities. Mr. Merkt is an experienced industry generalist who has extensive experience in manufacturing, distribution, retail, services and technology.

Mr. Merkt advises clients on traditional transaction-related matters, including extensive EBITDA and cash flow analysis, purchase price negotiation and review, various financial analyses surrounding revenue and cost trends, post-close liquidity analysis, analysis of working capital, pro forma builds, sales effectiveness and pipeline analysis, as well as many other ad hoc KPIs.

In addition, he brings significant experience and deep knowledge of complex carve-out transactions in which extensive stand-alone operating analyses are required, as well as a bottoms-up cost builds. Mr. Merkt also assists various client portfolio companies in building and evaluating budgets and five-year strategic plans.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Merkt served as the Head of Finance and Sales Operations for a publicly traded company, as well as in the financial due diligence and audit practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Merkt earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California Polytechnic State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of California.
