Chee Weng Lee is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Hong Kong, China. He specializes in corporate and international tax across the Asia–Pacific region.

With over 40 years of extensive tax leadership experience, Mr. Lee has spearheaded complex, cross-border initiatives spanning tax advisory, compliance, legal entity rationalization, controversy resolution, and transfer pricing. He is recognized for delivering strategic solutions that align tax structures with business growth objectives across diverse industries.

Mr. Lee’s portfolio of notable assignments includes advising on high-stakes tax matters for multinational clients in hospitality, real estate, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, and emerging sectors such as stablecoin issuers and cryptocurrency exchanges. His work has consistently involved navigating intricate regulatory landscapes and designing innovative tax strategies to support global expansion and operational efficiency.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lee held senior leadership roles at leading professional services firms. He spent nearly two decades at Arthur Andersen, serving as Partner and Head of the International Tax Services Group. He later served as Partner and Board Member at PwC; Partner and Head of Tax at Deloitte; and most recently as Head of Tax for Asia–Pacific/Hong Kong SAR, China at Vistra.

Mr. Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Monash University, Australia, and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales. He is a Certified Tax Advisor (CTA) with the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute, CPA Australia (formerly the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants), and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), where he also holds a Practising Certificate (PC).
