Charles Lowrey is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in Houston. He specializes in interim CFO and other leadership roles, performance improvement, merger integration, IPO readiness, liquidity and cash management, 100 day planning and execution and finance organization transformation in crisis and non-crisis situations.

Mr. Lowrey brings 30 years of business experience providing leadership and advisory services to scores of companies in need of operational improvement. He serves private equity clients globally across a spectrum of industries including the upstream, midstream and energy services industries as well as manufacturing and environmental.

Mr. Lowrey's notable assignments include being responsible for the merger integration of a leading U.S. based oil company driving synergies of over $100 million successfully to fruition; leading the financial remediation of a $2 billion global private equity owned energy-focused manufacturing company; and being responsible for process and technology controls implementation in support of contractors operating and supporting the US efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lowrey was a Managing Director at BearingPoint, a global consulting firm, with primary global account responsibility for one of the Energy division’s largest energy client. Previously, Mr. Lowrey was a Partner with the Business Consulting practice at Arthur Anderson in Houston.

Mr. Lowrey earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Houston Baptist University and an MBA from the University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) inactive in Texas.
