Charles Evans

Mr. Evans has worked with clients in various industries to restructure their businesses. He has extensive experience in consensual and in-court processes, particularly Indonesian PKPU. His recent engagements include advising noteholders in the restructuring of an Indonesian textile company with debt totaling $378 million; advising a global telecom multinational on cost optimization including towerco renegotiation for their Myanmar subsidiary; advising on corporate transformation related to cost and value for the Southeast Asian subsidiaries of a multinational global beverage corporation; and serving as a financial advisor to a global financial payments firm and then as Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) for its Asia-Pacific operations.
Mr. Evans also served as a financial advisor to a hotel and office workspace operator with operations in Asia and Australia; as CRO for a Singapore-listed hotel REIT with assets in the U.S.; as financial advisor to the senior secured lenders to a listed palm plantation operator in Indonesia on the restructuring of debt totaling ~$700 million; and as financial advisor to an Indonesian consumer electronics company with ~$500 million in debt.
Previously, Mr. Evans was the financial advisor to the lenders of the third largest Indonesian paper manufacturer; served as financial advisor to the syndicated secured lenders of an Indonesian oil and gas drilling company with a total debt of ~$420 million, for whom he subsequently served as the Monitoring Accountant; and advised an Indonesian telecom company on the restructuring of debts totaling $1 billion.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Evans was a Managing Director with FTI Consulting, based in Jakarta. Previously, he was a Research Analyst with a Singapore-based distressed and event-driven fund, where he managed investments across APAC. He also worked with BNP Paribas in Sydney, focusing on managing non-performing loans and on acquisition and leveraged finance.
Mr. Evans earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Sydney and an MBA from INSEAD. He is conversant in Bahasa Indonesia.
