Chan Yoo
Dr. Yoo’s primary areas of concentration are transformation and OE. He has worked with industry sector leaders in petrochemicals, advanced materials, automotive components, semiconductors, and consumer goods.
Dr. Yoo leads large‑scale transformation programs for industry‑leading organizations and guides companies through complex operational challenges and performance breakthroughs.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Yoo has directed approximately 300 OE programs across Korea, the US, China, and Southeast Asia. He has played a pivotal role in establishing OE as a core performance discipline within both major conglomerates and private equity investment cycles. Since introducing methodologies such as total operations performance (TOP) to Korea in 1998, he has helped corporations elevate cost and quality competitiveness while enabling private equity firms to accelerate EBITDA improvement and unlock portfolio value.
In addition to his transformation work, Dr. Yoo has been a strategic advisor for new business development initiatives, contributing to the growth of innovative platforms such as SK Group’s used‑car marketplace businesses SK Encar and K Car. His ability to connect operational rigor with strategic scaling has positioned him as a trusted advisor to executives navigating rapid market shifts.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Yoo founded and served as CEO of a leading Korean OE specialist firm, McQs Incorporated, following his consulting tenure at McKinsey & Company.
Dr. Yoo earned a PhD in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His multidisciplinary background, including entrepreneurship, management consulting, and operational design, continues to shape his distinctive approach to leadership and transformation.
