With more than 17 years of state and local tax experience, Mr. Woodfork has helped numerous clients identify and recover overpaid taxes, resulting in $150+ million in total recoveries. He brings expertise analyzing complex data to uncover errors and discrepancies that may otherwise go unnoticed and is skilled at conducting tax compliance reviews; developing tax planning strategies; and analyzing nexus issues to help clients minimize their tax liabilities and maximize profitability.
Mr. Woodfork served as a national leader for chemicals at a Big 4 accounting firm, where he provided guidance to clients across the country, helping them navigate complex tax issues and achieve their business goals. He has also served as a subject-matter expert, working closely with clients to resolve complex tax issues at both state and local levels. Mr. Woodfork brings a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations and is adept at working with auditors and other officials to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Woodfork spent 12 years with KPMG, LLP in their state and local tax practice, where he most recently served as Managing Director. Before that, he spent five years with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts as a state tax auditor. Mr. Woodfork has demonstrated the ability to add value to Fortune 500 companies with his insightful opportunities and breadth of sales and use tax experience.
Mr. Woodfork earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Sam Houston State University. He is a Certified Member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation.
