Brett Todd is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Melbourne. He specializes in private equity and provides taxation advice on mergers and acquisitions, cross-border structuring, domestic tax structuring, IPOs and private equity bolt on investments.

With more than 25 years of private equity and international tax experience, Mr. Todd has worked on some of the largest transactions in Australia, serving as a lead client service partner for various clients, including Affinity Equity Partners, Riverside, Baring Equity Partners, Intermediate Capital Group, CVC and Hosen Capital.

Mr. Todd has led tax and accounting advisory services on a number of highly complex M&A transactions, including acquisitions and/or disposals of Ticketek, Primo Foods, Velocity Frequent Flyer, Real Pet Food Company, Loscam, Waste Services Group, Port of Newcastle, Icon Group, Cura Day Hospitals Group, Laser Clinics Australia, Scottish Pacific Group and the IPO of Medibank to name a few.  He has also provided fund structuring services for all of his key clients and executives. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Todd spent 25 years at Deloitte in various senior roles, including National Managing Partner of Tax, National Leader of Cross Border Tax (M&A, international tax and transfer pricing). He also was the National Leader in Mergers & Acquisitions, the Australian representative for Deloitte Global Advisory Council and Victorian Leader of Corporate & International Tax.

Mr. Todd earned a bachelor’s degree in business from RMIT. He is a registered Chartered Accountant and Tax Agent.
