Brad Stern is a Senior Director with the Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group in New York.

Mr. Stern brings more than 10 years of experience providing both buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence and other transaction advisory services to private equity and corporate clients, with a focus on the software and technology space. His transaction experience ranges from lower and middle market acquisition targets to billion dollar, complex, cross-border transactions.

Mr. Stern has worked with clients on a number of transaction-related matters, including, analysis of recurring revenue, EBITDA and cash flow; formulation and analysis of pro forma EBITDA; identification of value opportunities and deal breakers; general analysis of financial statements; constructing deal-based carve-out financial statements; and analysis of working capital and capital expenditure requirements. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in advising on sale and purchase agreements and purchase price mechanisms.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Stern spent one year as a director within the Transaction Advisory Services practice at Grant Thornton LLP and four and a half years as a director within the Deal Advisory Group at KPMG in New York.

Mr. Stern earned a bachelor’s degree and a post graduate diploma in finance and accounting from the University of Cape Town. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of New York, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and a registered Chartered Accountant (South Africa).
