Bjoern Velden is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Dusseldorf. He brings 25 years of experience in consulting and industry.  

Mr. Velden’s primary areas of concentration are transformation, carve-out and integration, performance improvement, value creation and operational restructuring. He has worked globally across a wide range of industries, focusing on process industries (specialty chemicals and technical gases) and renewables, especially offshore wind, packaging, and industrial products. His expertise also covers aircraft manufacturing, airline catering, intralogistics, and offshore services. 

Most recently at A&M, Mr. Velden worked on a large transformation and cost-out project for a leading aerospace supplier, managing the PMO and leading the A&M project team. Previously, he conducted operational due diligences in industrials and chemicals, assessing the assets, developing measures for value creation, and creating an implementation plan. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Velden spent 12 years with AlixPartners in Turnaround and Restructuring, serving most recently as a Director. His notable engagements include leading large projects for installation, commissioning and hand-over of offshore windfarms, including interim positions with responsibility for installation and remediation of non-conformities; managing the PMO function for transformation projects; and leading cost-out and transformation for the European organization of a global producer of liquid food packaging. 

Previously, Mr. Velden spent eight years with Siegwerk Druckfarben, serving most recently as Director of Corporate Controlling. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Consultant with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. 

Mr. Velden earned a master’s degree in industrial engineering and management (technical chemistry concentration) from the Technical University of Berlin. A German national, he is fluent in German and English.
