Azhar Mohammad Shaikh is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Transactions Group in Dallas. He specializes in buy- and sell-side financial due diligence, advising clients on acquisitions, divestitures, and carve-outs. His expertise spans analysis of quality of earnings, working capital, indebtedness, and carve-out implications, helping clients identify key risks and valuation drivers throughout the transaction life cycle.

With more than a decade of due diligence experience, Mr. Shaikh has led or supported more than 80 transactions, ranging from middle-market acquisitions to multibillion-dollar carve-outs. He has experience of serving both private equity and strategic buyers, with deal activity across industries, including industrial manufacturing, consumer products, business services, retail, and technology.

Mr. Shaikh’s notable engagements include a sell-side readiness project for a $15 billion high-growth business; due diligence on a multibillion-dollar public-to-public company merger; and simultaneous buy- and sell-side due diligence on a large platform that made four bolt-on acquisitions during the due diligence phase. He is recognized for combining financial rigor with commercial insight, enabling clients to maximize deal value and avoid costly surprises.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Shaikh spent 13 years at EY-Parthenon, most recently serving as a Senior Director in its Deals practice. In this role, he led teams on complex buy- and sell-side due diligence engagements and advised on working capital mechanics. He also coached junior professionals across multiple offices.

Mr. Shaikh earned a bachelor’s degree (honors) and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
