Axel Rink

Mr. Rink has worked with both listed and private clients and with a range of debt products including investment grade, leveraged and structured finance and asset-based finance. Along with experience in positive financing mandates, he has significant experience advising in stressed and distressed situations on refinancing, covenant amendments/waivers, broader stakeholder management and non-performing loan portfolios.
Prior to joining to A&M, Mr. Rink spent 10 years with Deloitte's Financial Advisory practice, co-heading their German Debt & Capital Advisory team. He advised corporate and private equity clients on debt financings and helped build a leading cross-border advisory practice that worked on some of the highest-profile German restructurings of recent years, including the restructuring of Galapagos and the Bartec recapitalisation and its subsequent restructuring and debt-equity swap.
Prior to that, Mr. Rink worked for international financial sponsors in their corporate investment teams overseeing debt and equity investments, primarily in stressed or distressed situations. Mr. Rink started his career in investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
Mr. Rink earned a Diplomkaufmann (equivalent to an MBA) (international accounting, banking, and financial engineering and derivates concentration) from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. He is a member of the TMA Turnaround Management Association (Gesellschaft fuer Restrukturierung – TMA Deutschland e.V.) and the Anglo-German Club e.V. Mr. Rink is fluent in German and English.
