Axel Ortjohann is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Frankfurt. He is a highly experienced mergers and acquisitions tax professional with over 15 years in the field.

Mr. Ortjohann brings extensive experience in M&A deals, such as leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, distressed transactions, and post-deal integrations and reorganizations. He has worked with clients across a range of industries, including healthcare, financial services, consumer, infrastructure, and digital products.

Additionally, Mr. Ortjohann has led tax teams working on mid-market to large-cap transactions for private equity and corporate clients, domestically and across other regions, both on the buy- and sell-side.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Ortjohann was a Tax Director with Deloitte in its M&A Tax practice, where he advised private equity firms and multinationals on a wide range of national and international tax matters.

Previously, Mr. Ortjohann worked at PwC in the M&A Tax department, with a strong focus on private equity and reorganizations.

Mr. Ortjohann earned a diploma in tax law from the Bremen University of Applied Sciences. He is a German Certified Tax Advisor (Steuerberater).
